I was the game designer for this game and a developer.
At Talespin we created a data experience depicting a 3D representation of the blockchain which used moving game objects to represent transactions and blocks,
and stationary objects to represent the various nodes through which each transaction and block would pass on the route to verification.
Users were given the ability to slow down and freeze time to give a clearer understanding of an extremely fast-moving process.
Each game object could be selected by touch to give a UI readout of key information about its type, information contained within,
and verification status; when interacting with a block a user could swipe through the entire block to see information about the transactions contained within it.
The Walking Dead Social Game: Chronicles was an open world action/adventure game based on the TV show. It featured turn based combat and an original story which included characters from the show as well as a cast of new characters. Among the game's social features was a raiding system in which players attacked each other's camps to steal supplies.
While I was working on The Real Housewives, The Walking Dead Social Game: Chronicles launched and had a very rough start. While the combat system had promise, the energy system was far too harsh and unfair to players. There was also a lack of initial social features to allow player intereaction.
Here is an early review of the game.
While I returned to work on the game's story many gameplay features were added and refined. Within six months many of the game's problems had been addressed and great new social features had been added. The game's gameplay and story were more complex than most games on Facebook, which made it popular with a group of core gamers and fans of the show.
Live services for the game ended January 1st 2015.
The Real Housewives was a social adventure game which focused on resource management through trading, hunting, and gambling various social resources such as buzz, style, and attitude. The game featured the cast of Real Housewives of New York in an over-the-top story featuring high drama confrontations and hillarious twists. The game gave players the chance to create their own housewife and work their way into high society by improving their social status, wardrobe, and house.
Metric data showed that the game did very well in retention, monetization, and virility. However, one of the primary reasons for the game's development was to promote the Real Housewives brand. The game was eventually shut down by Bravo due to what they deemed a lack of interest in the brand among Facebook users.
